As you would all be aware, users can create and assign qualifications against an employee and specify whether such qualification has an expiry date or not. In addition to being able to generate a report on employee qualifications, expired qualifications are listed within the ‘Warnings’ tab of the pay run screen, as follows:

We have sought to improve how a user is notified of expired qualifications for the following reasons:

  1. Users should be notified before a qualification has expired so that appropriate action can be taken in advance, especially in instances where an employee is not allowed to work by law unless they possess a current qualification;
  2. Notifications should not just be restricted to payroll officers as more likely than not, they are not the people managing employee qualifications.

As a result, we have added an additional notification to afford all full access users with the ability to easily identify and manage expiring and expired qualifications. The dashboard screen now lists expiring/expiring qualifications under “Action Items”, as follows:

We believe that this a great starting point in improving the ease and reach of these notifications and hope you feel the same way. If you have any comments or feedback, please let us know in the comments or via support@yourpayroll.com.au.
